ARCHITECTURE

The residences at One Queensridge Place make an artistic statement as much as an architectural one. The high level of design and intricate craftsmanship in both public areas and private homes is a dramatic tribute to a dedicated team of architects and artisans.

IRONWORK
Our team of designers searched several continents for unique artistic accents and materials to incorporate into One Queensridge Place. The wrought iron railings are hand forged, hot-dipped galvanized and hand-painted to produce authentic results. We also expanded our close relationships with local artisans and fabricators, commissioning them to craft gates, chandeliers and wine cellar doors. The result was an international collaboration that produced some of the world's most magnificent ironwork.

INLAYS
In the public areas and private residences at One Queensridge Place, we wanted to incorporate mosaic designs that could have been created many generations ago. We discovered the 16th century technique known as the art of Pietra Dura. Originally invented by the dukes of Tuscany, Pietra means stone and Dura means hard. Pietra Dura is thus the art of inlaying marble with semi-precious hard stones as well as various colored ancient marbles. So prized was the style, workers of the original Pietra Dura centuries ago were put to death upon completion so that the design could never be duplicated. We were fortunate to meet an artisan who had revived this lost Italian art and was willing to share it with us.

STATUES
The Trevi Fountain in Rome, the Champs-Elysees in Paris and the Parthenon in Athens were the inspirations for our statues, fountains, columns and planters. We wanted to introduce a timeless and classic quality emulating the world's greatest art and architecture. Many statues have been hand carved by master artisans with generations of experience behind them.

STONE
From the beginning, EHB knew that exquisite stonework would be an important design element in all of our developments. It has always been a signature design statement in our custom homes, as well as a distinguishing feature in our office and retail centers.

The design team traveled to many parts of the world to find quarries with stone of unusual character. They returned with a stunning selection, cut in eight countries. At the same time, we sought artisans who would turn the stone into works of art. The craftsmanship is astounding.
